[Vwdiesel] suspension damage

The other day it was hot here, over 100 and the heat index was 115. On the
way home from work, I came upon a place where the road had buckled.
Unfortunately, I didn't get it slowed down enough before I hit the buckled
concrete and I took a hard hit on the front suspension. I thought I'd
probably bent both wheels but I don't see any damage from walking around it.

 

Now, whenever I go over any bumps, there is a rattle like something is loose
in the front end. I did the bumper push up and down check and the struts
still seem firm. I haven't looked under the hood or from underneath for
damage. I'm looking for suggestions for what would be most likely damaged?
