[Vwdiesel] Calif. diesel smog check comming

I dunno how they do it in Cali, but here in Oregon the OBDII cars (post 96 I
think) don't get any kind of actual emissions or equipment check at the DEQ,
they just plug into the computer and check for trouble and readiness codes.

No codes, no problem.

My chipped TDI passes with flying colors (of course it would probably pass
the old-style smoke test as well, but that's beside the point).
I could have no cat or obvious emissions mods under the hood like
disconnected CCV/EGR (which I don't, btw) and they wouldn't care because
they don't look! In fact I do have a mufflerectomy, which may or may not be
grounds for failure, but again it doesn't matter because they don't check.

On the other hand, last round I had trouble getting through due to an
annoying intermittent GP fault thanks to the old-style wiring harness.
