More a progress report than questions this time. Still have not got the Quantum on the road although the engine now runs. Found the fan belt from the crankshaft pulley to the A/C compressor was very loose. Since the alternator runs off the A/C pulley, it has to be tight. Spent a couple hours trying to figure out how to adjust that belt, then remembered the tension is adjusted by removing the shims in the crankshaft pulley. How many? This is a STUPID system! So, off with the radiator shrouds to get enough room to remove the pulley after removing the 4 nuts. That DAMN Bentley manual did not cover this in the A/C section! Also found My Quantum still has that STUPID worthless USA made York A/C compressor. If that compressor needs replacement, that boat anchor will be replaced with a Japanese Sankyo rotary type A/C that my Dasher has. Have a Citroen Car Club 3 day annual meet to attend this week in Salinas, CA so probably won't be able to torch the Quantum till next week. My 1972 Citroen stationwagon which I bought new had that York compressor which I replaced with a Sankyo type rotary back in the late '70s or early '80s. Did the same with another York that was OEM on a 1973 Citroen SM I once owned.
