Unit injection does not make a direct injection. The TDI engines
are indeed direct injection. Unique, directional spray pattern on
long, pencil injectors that spray into a hollowed out piston. Ain't
no prechamber on those babies.
Only half the VW prechamber is cast into the head. ;-)
