[Vwdiesel] Question about what seems to be a tired starter, 92 A2 Jetta TD.

I am sure my oil is a bit thick for winter, 20W-50 but when I changed it in the Fall I forgot to put the 15W-40 in and I have been fine as I can plug the car in at home as well as at work when it is cold.
Now that temps are getting warmer, still just seems to be a bit to slow at turning the motor over "Fast enough" to get a good start when chilly and not plugged in. I am pretty sure the starter is original with 210K on it now. The motor turns over about 10 rotations before it just starts to fire as I can hear the battery slowing down and the Battery is only 1 year old.
Autohaus AZ has the new smaller, lighter and much more powerful diesel starters for $110. $61 core charge.
Should I not even fart with the old one and just get the re-manufactured Bosch unit?
I put one of these in the Vanagon 2 years back, WHAT a difference.
I guess I answered my own question here.
