Thanks all, it could just be connectors, with temps in the 40's yesterday she started just fine with no extra cranking after sitting all day with no block core heater.
Those battery cables would be an easy upgrade, thanks.

First I'd go with some big cables. They really help. FLAPS here sells
6V application cables for such things. REALLY NICE improvement.
One other option is a new old style starter. I went through mine
then not too awfully long later it wasn't happy enough for me so
I bought a replacement, Bosch rebuild. WAY better than mine
after all new bushings, etc!
