[Vwdiesel] dropping engine - order of mount removal?

You can, I've done it both ways. With the Engine Sling it's easier to take
it out the top. I find it easier to tie up the Axels and not have to deal
with them on removal and install.

I always thought you could just drop the engine out from under the car?

You can take off the Rear Mount now then hook up whatever you're going to
use to lift/support the Engine and take off the remaining two Mounts,
doesn't matter which one first.

I use a sling with an auger that moves the purchase point to tilt the Engine
however I want, works great, always out the top. Good luck.

First time trying to remove an entire engine/tranny. VW pickup. The front
mount was already disconnected, I've got it drained and the electrical off,
exhaust disconnected, I'm working on the inner CV joints.

What order is easiest for taking off the remaining 3 mounts?

Any other tips - it's going out the bottom.

Thanks,

Will.
