[Vwdiesel] Peugeot?

I know this is not VW, but does anyone know if the automatic transmission from a late '70s Peugeot V-6 gas engine 604 will fit a 1982 Peugeot 505 turbo diesel? Have a lead from a person who has an outside collection of cars including the 505 TD who is being forced by the City of Sacramento to sell off his collection quick or they go to the crusher. The '82 505TD is reputed to have a bad transmission & was told the 604 gas automatic of mine was good (too long a story to relate at this time as to how I got it).
