[Vwdiesel] '02 Golf starts/dies

Additionally - you will know it's the Immobilizer because you'll get a
flashing yellow light (a 'key' if i remember correctly) on the dash... but
you'd think that Dad would have mentioned that.

In addition to VagCom you need a secret 6(?) digit number, SKC I think it's
called, to reprogram the immobilizer.  You used to be able to talk a
dealership into giving it to you, but I hear they put a stop to that.

If it's not the immobilizer, could be the anti-shudder valve is misbehaving
- either it's stuck partway closed and getting sucked shut when the engine
starts, or perhaps the antishudder control valve is stuck open and the valve
is closing as soon as the pump pulls enough vacuum - IIRC I read about that
actually happening once on the VW-TDI list.  Have dad wire or hold the valve
open while someone starts the car and see what happens.
