Yes but... The pumps need timed to the specs that were on the
fender of the car it came from, not the car it's in or going in. The
'86 punp should have a fast idle along with the timing advance. The
Dasher will probably time to .88mm where I think the '86 times to
1.00mm. Not that the figures are significant in themselves but I've
personally found that the .88 pumped engines tend to be the slowest
even if the timing's bumped to .95 (I think that's the "permissable"
"improved performance" setting.)

'81 blocks are 11mm bolts but 12mm head's configuration for the oil
return holes. Supposedly only to mid '81 but I've yet to find an '81
with both the large returns AND the 12mm bolts.
Easy to tell if it's a 1.5 or a 1.6. The back side of the engine (frost
plug side) will have "1.6D" cast into the forward end of it if it's a
1.6 and nothing if it's a 1.5.
If it won't idle then check for air in the fuel line, retarded timing,
or bad injectors, low compression, etc. The last two should smoke
white and get better with the engine warm. The first two should
also get better when warm.
