Probably not, with the TDI. Tow starting is when the pump needs
more than you want to crank it, to prime. If the timing's off enough
that the computer can't/won't adjust it within parameters, towing
it isn't going to change that. Most likely if it's not within paramaters
it will try and prevent it (or prevent it completely) from firing.
As I recall Jon used a "cloud" setting or such on the Vag com,
while he was cranking it, to get a broader view of what it was
doing, then he was finally able to bring the timing in where it
could finally fire. He fought it for a week or two until he got it right,
I think. It was totally timing.
