[Vwdiesel] A2 Power steering rack

I'm finally getting the power steering rack out of the '85 Jetta.  The 
leaks finally reached epic proportion and all four tie rod ends are 
completely shot.  I got the outer tie rod ends loose and all of the 
connections on the rack off.  It's loose in the engine bay, but I can't 
get it out.  The manual says that I'm supposed to remove the tranny 
mount and loosen the rear engine mount.  Has anyone removed this thing?  
I'd like to know how it's supposed to come out before I start pulling 
mounts.   I don't see how pulling those two mounts will get it out.  
It's like the car was built around that one part.
