The young man who traded his Mercedes for my Jetta got home OK. He lives in Sacramento, about 50 miles from my home. I have been at Lake Tahoe  since Fri. & just got home. I have referred him to this discussion group. One thing I was concerned about was the oil pressure lite on the Jetta would blink intermitedly, like My Quantum did until I found the missing wire, which I couldn't find on the Jetta. The Jetta had sat for several months & I should have tried to start it before he came up to look at it. I thought the Harbor Freight trickle charger was working on the Jetta, & when I went to start it, the battery was dead. However, we did get the Jetta started & it drove quite well & I suspect the suggestion of air causing the "hunting" of the engine RPM was due to air in the system.
