Thanks for the info on idler pulleys. I thought if the idler pulley continued to spin but could not feel any slop, it was good. Thanks for teaching me otherwise as the reason for feeling drag on a new pulley makes sense. This is why , in my opinion, that this discussion is one of the most valuable one on the Internet for us diesel shade tree amateur mechanics.
