[Vwdiesel] Q: TDI head gasket expected life?

I got about 275K km on my '91 TD.  Currently have about 260K km on the '97 TDI.  Does anyone have experience on how long the TDI head gasket should last?

My guess is it should last longer than the TD because of the reduced compression ration.
