I examined my Quantum's IP. When I turned my electric fuel pump, I could see diesel fuel dripping at the rate of about two drops a second from the cold start shaft,  this is after letting automatic transmission fluid sit in the IP for several days. I removed the IP & could wiggle the cold start shaft. I removed the cold start shaft from another old IP I have. I could see where there were two "O" rings so will replace them. The person who rebuilt this pump should have replaced them but I guess he didn't, or could there be some other worn part causing this? I have an IP repair kit so should be able to find the "O" rings. My Quantum is a 1982 turbodiesel for those who may not recall. The IP I took the old start shaft off of is a non-turbo IP showing some signs of rust.
