My fears were finally confirmed, there is just no other place for this oil to be coming from after chaning around valve covers and gaskets 3 times.
Not a major leak, just enough to drip and make a mess on the back of the van.
Here are my questions.
1. If I get myself to TDC on the flywheel, lock the pump with the pin and back of cam, no need to re-time things, right? I am not moving the pump.
2. My 1.9na has the timing belt rear metal guard and the plastic front timing belt cover snaps to this in 2 places and has the center long bolt.
This is like any AAZ 1.9TD would have, it is from my other engine actually. Do you think there is enough room in the hole around the cam in the rear metal cover or do you think it will have to be removed, a bit more work.
3. I should only have to loosen the front and center cam journals a bit to allow me to get the old cam oil seal off and slip a new one on, YES?
4. put my belt and cam gear back on, but a hair loose so it can still move, tention the belt and lock down the cam gear bolt to 33-35ft lbs
That should do it, am I missing anything volks.
THANKS
