[Vwdiesel] TDI BEW intake manifold flapper

If that is what he is talking about then it is part of the system that  
was implemented to alleviate the problem of the intakes gumming up.   
My guess is that by increasing the velocity of the intake air,  
especially during high EGR settings, this would probably pull the soot  
and any oil into the cylinders instead of staying in the intake.  The  
intake on the BEW is also much shorter and straighter than the ALH and  
AHU manifolds.  Hayden
