[Vwdiesel] squishy brakes?

It is very simple:  pedal sinking has nothing to do with vacuum, that is a 100% Hydraulic problem.

Two possibilities:  brake fluid is leaking out (leaking line, wheel cylinder, etc.) in which case the brake fluid level will be going down.   Second:  brake fluid is leaking past the piston seals in the master cylinder (thus brake fluid will NOT go down).  Find the leak if the first and fix it, or rebuild/replace the m/c if the second.
