[Vwdiesel] Rolf's Golf - latest failure

The ALH cams are really beefy, and don't suffer breakdowns too often.  On TDI Club they like to say that they do, but they really don't.  The lifters need swapped every once in awhile as they get filled with gunk over time, but the cams don't have too many problems.  My car has over 200K on it and the cam looks new.  Just use 5w40 synthetic in the car and don't worry about it.

The BEW on the other hand, drives the pump injectors via the cam.  Lots and lots of use and wear.  If you don't use the right oil in it, you're screwed.  And it's a really expensive repair too.
