From my conversations with Giles when I had a pump done for a 1.9 AAZ
(he speaks in generalities as he doesn't want to give away his
secrets) I understand that virtually ALL of his modifications are on
the inside of the pump. He changes the governor setting, pump piston
travel and sometimes even changes the pump distributor to provide an
increase in fuel delivery across the entire range if rpms. I know
that Ken (kentee on the email) had his NA pump done by Giles and then
had it dyno tested and it really delivered exceptional results and NO
the thing is not a horrific smoke machine. If the person in question
is making a huge amount of smoke, then I suspect that he has messed
with the pump himself. Hayden
