On this subject, let me add a couple of things to this.

I've worked on a very wide range of things, and I can tell you that there is
a difference between someone who wants to rebuild/fix something the right
way and someone who has passion about something and will take it that step
further.

Here are a couple of examples:
1. Brake job
a-Someone replaces all components that are out of spec, then bleeds
the system and sends you down the road.
b-Someone does the above, plus pulls the sliders out and
cleans/regreases them. Then, a complete fluid change is performed.

2. CIS fuel distributor
a-Someone takes one apart and cleans/rebuilds it with new parts and
orings where needed. Then, it is reassembled and set to factory specs.
b-Soneone does the above, then spends the time to fine tune fuel
delivery so that each cylinder is within 1% of each other, and so that all
other adjustments are also within 1% of the recomended setting.

On a side note, I drove Nicks car after the Giles rebuild. I didn't drive it
before, though. But, I can say that when a car smokes as little as his did
and still will damn near run with my 4000Q, I'm pretty impressed. Especially
considering it's only a 1.6 diesel.

Oh, and BTW, I'm the "B" guy in the above examples. I suspect Giles is as
well. Don't know what he does, but I know for a fact there are people who
have a passion for what they do, as opposed to "it's just a job".

Just my .02

Tony
