[Vwdiesel] Snapped a head bolt

Ouch! Glad it didn't happen to me. Actually it has happened to me on a '47 Hudson & on my Model A.  The only engine I have ever rebuilt. I don't like those stretch bolts. I would get those 12 mm ARC studs from Summit racing & if it has 11 mm bolts, re-tap for 12 mm studs being careful to tap perpendicular to the block. When it has happened to me, I have had to use an easy out. I hope Will's comes out easier. I would certainly soak the bolts with penetrating oil before trying to remove  them. However, I think other contributors to this discussion group may have better ideas.
