[Vwdiesel] Temperature and Gas Gauge

My Temperature and Gas Gauges are not working, all other indicators are
working. I shorted the fuel gauge line at the sensor, nothing showed
(according to bently it should show full if it is shorted at the tank
sensor.) There HAS to be a bad ground, but I do not know where to look.

I REALLY need the gas gauge at least, I am about to take this car 1,200
miles to go home on leave, so I'd like to know my fuel level
