Thanks for the response re this Mercedes E300D. I offered the possibility of an even trade for my 1965 Olds F-85 sedan. The seller hasn't responded to my offer but has re-advertised it on Craig's List, San Francisco Bay area Craig's List. If you want to look at it, go to the SF Bay Craig's list & search under "diesel cars" & biodiesel". Based on your response, I have lost interest in the 1996 E300D as I don't need a car that will dollar me to death & have to go to a Mercedes dealer @ $100 an hour shop time.
There must be a reason why '80s are going for as much or more than 1990s MB diesels. They are more like bullet proof tanks that are more easy to work on.
