Ray,

Congrats on getting so close! I am strongly considering putting the TDI motor into my '92 Cabriolet now instead of the old bus. I need to sit down and do some number crunching, but I figured that if I saved money and clamped down on myself, I could get my house paid off in a few years, and then I'd have no monthly payments and could throw all sorts of money at getting another TDI motor and putting it in the bus at a later time.

Anyway, I haven't decided for sure, but that is where I'm leaning.

I don't know that I have the brackets, but if you had a part number, I am planning on going through my stash soon to try to sell some stuff as part of this goal.

As far as the exhaust clamps, I have never used a special clamp thing. I just used a big ole screwdriver to pry the tops of the C springs onto the top of the manifold. Worked ok for me. Just get one side on, and lever the other side on with the tip of the screwdriver.
