[Vwdiesel] Wet floors

One problem solved. I "thought" I didn't have plugged drains on my 04 Golf since I could grab the drains and it didn't feel like there was anything in them. Well since the recall on my car is just cleaning the drains and cutting the ends off so it isn't pinched at the ends I figured I would do that. Well I pulled the drain part out of the car and found my problem. Both front drain hoses were kinked and it doesn't look like they have ever drained water. I had to cut about 1.5 inches off the hose which made it really fun to put the drain back on but I can now dump water out. I opened the sunroof and there was standing water so I knew something was wrong there. I think it was overflowing and somehow reaching the rear passenger floor. I also cut the pinch part of the rubber on the drains on the rear but they were just fine. At least the right is. I couldn't check the left one in the spot I was parked. I do park nose down hill and the rear of the car is higher then the front with the lift I put on it. I don't have a driveway and/or garage just a storage unit at a different location so driveway parking isn't an option.

Next problem not solved yet. I can take pictures for anyone that wants but the leak on my 81 rabbit truck is NOT the door nor is it the rear window nor is it coming from the truck bed. The bed has been rino lined so it is sealed nicely. The door drains are clear as I have had those off and the plastic is in them. There is new (3 year old) weather stripping for the door seals as well on the truck. But as posted I think it is the stuff used on the pinch welds that has just broken away since you can see cracks everywhere that there is a pinch weld. The leaks are coming from the pinch welds in the cab behind the seat on the pass side above the floor and below the window. I installed the window a couple years ago (split) with plenty of sealant. It is also leaking where the back meets the side where the factory sealant is as well. I think I will be making a trip to walmart or home depot to get some white flexible caulking (truck is white). And then wait for it to rain again. It leaks just sitting outside not being driven and the truck is mostly rust free (bottom of the doors and a few scratches to bare metal is only rust).

Still need part numbers or a place for the rubber plugs on the 78 VW camper van. The nearest dealer is 150 miles away and the parts departments aren't open on weekends.

Thanks for the info on the gauges. I will just run the 0-100 gauge and not worry then.

Thanks for the help.
