Grrrr... I've got all the non-A/C mounting parts, but that alternator
is only a 65amp, while the eco w/ A/C has a (NEW) 90amp in it. ETKA was
a pain. JEG 91 MG 1 SG 5 6-10 only shows ONLY 068105243A, $100 cheaper,
and says it's for MF,1V but.. JEG 91 MG 1 SG 5 6- shows both 068105243A
and 068105243H for later Jettas with A/C! I was hoping I could get the
A suffix, but looks like I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow to see if
they can come anywhere CLOSE to the $325 busdepot wants..
On another note, I got the crank and intermediate seals in, thanks
everyone! Grainger sent me the wrong tap a second time. As soon as I
get the right tap for the head bolt holes I'll slap the head on and wait
for a new pulley!
How did it crack you ask? I pulled the crank bolt, crank sprocket and
crank pulley together. Used the old timing belt as a cushion and put
the sprocket in a vise. I cleaned the allen holes but still stripped
the bolts with the allen socket. Next I used some MAPP gas on the bolt
heads and then a chisel on the bolt heads to try to spin them out.
Looks like my pounding bent the bolt and cracked the double-weighted
pulley. It didn't even OCCUR to me that I would crack the pulley that
way... And then I assumed it would be a $50 fix, not hundreds!
