[Vwdiesel] Miles Per Gallon

Good Morning Shalyn,

Yes, I think you're correct about BioDiesel from algae not quite being prime-time. I'm excited about the idea but just don't see any cost-effective manner in time or money to chase after that idea. But it is an exciting idea and I was hoping someone, not 'selling' the technology, had some personal experience to share.

That $4.00 per gallon gasoline, in the not too distant past, let me know that I can't count on any source other than my own for cost effective fuel. That fuel cost took more than half my pay from one route just to meet the 'requirement' of having an operating vehicle with sufficient fuel to run my then three daily routes. Ouch! That hurt. But the oil companies did make billions in profits. Let's not forget that.

Notwithstanding the 'grease car' operators viewpoint, I do think the time and effort of making BioDiesel from waste vegtable oil is time well spent. The Journey To Forever web site was one of the top sites pulled up from a Google search. It was interesting that your email tagged that site before I'd arrived there from the Google search.

It may turn out that I'll find using straight WVO is more cost-effective than the time and effort spent making BioDiesel but I first want to develop the working skills of getting the pure stuff. I also want to build a long lasting HHO Generator. The concept of a minimum of 20% increase in mpg along with clean exhaust gas is too good to ignore.

I had a former route that took me to Rockport via Evansville so most likely I've passed through that part of Indiana you grew up in. And your reference to Stock Tanks indicates to me that you're working in the cattle industry. Interesting. My Grandad acquired some 'stock' in California in the 1800's, drove them up into Southeastern Oregon and established a working ranch. Most of his male children continued in that tradition and a few of his female children somehow married ranchers and also continued that tradition.

Anyway, thanks for your feedback. You've got some good insights.

Gerry
