An update on my trip:
I worked on my wiper motor on a day that got as warm as about 32 F,
which was much nicer than I was worrying about! I played with the
wipers and shot some silicone/graphite lube down in the central shaft
and worked them back and forth. They started moving really nice. Then
once I got to a more populated area on our drive home where my wife
knew of a Wal-Mart we stopped to get new wiper blades, since the old
ones were getting sticky and it was getting really ugly on my
windshield. (Also on this trip I lost my windshield cleaner hose.
There's always something!) :) After finding the Wal-Mart closed down
we went to a K-mart and they had the blades. I got them replaced and
it worked great. I have no more problems with dirty windshield!
Thanks everyone! I'm home now and we had a great trip.
