[Vwdiesel] Signs of PD worn cam syndrome?

Well... after driving several cars on the weekend ('99 Audi A4Q 1.8T, '99
Passat V6, and the new '11 Jetta with base 2.0L gas), I decided the '04 TDI
is probably a good fit for us, if the dealer would take my lowball offer
($6500). They did. So we pick it up tonight. I'll drive it home on dealer
plates, and promptly park it while I figure out what parts it needs and
where to get them. I'll try to determine firstly if I will need a new cam or
not. At the very least, I will do the full TB kit, all the filters, and
probably clean the intake and check into the oil leak from the turbo.

Thanks for all the great advice on this one. Looking forward to learning
about TDIs, but hopefully not too much all at once...
