Just so that you will know, acetone addition to gas is like the supposed hydrogen generators that are supposed to increase fuel economy, all tests show they don't work. People often report increases in fuel economy from additive but seldom include the amount of additive in their calculations. The internet has allowed this kinds of mythological "miracle" mileage extenders to flourish despite virtually no evidence they work. Anyone remember when "they" recommended putting moth balls in your gas tank because they were made of Naptha and would increase the fuel burn? Hayden

Does anyone know for sure if there is any rubber in the fuel system of 200 jetta gas vehicles?
I'm doing as much research as I can before trying at least once, the acetone additive.
Apparently in very small ammounts (around 500-600:1 if I recall)it makes the gas burn more efficiently causing fuel economy to be any where from 0 to 10 % fuel economy increase.
The only negative comments I found so far is that acetone can eat rubber, I'm not sure if that small ammount would effect it, also, if there's water in the fuel it could emulsify the water on injectors.
The comments were mainly from oil companies, and skeptics that never tried it.
Thanks
Paul
