[Vwdiesel] new exhaust system for '84 Rabbit NA?

You are exactly right, Joe. Can I amend that to $190-250 and specify I was
talking about 2 inch? The 2.5 inch will be almost twice that much, and
very good for the TD. But any of those would have real mufflers. I stayed
with a less expensive sound-managing unit called a 'resonator,' and no
muffler. I'm 80 years old and my hearing is far enough gone that some
exhaust noise doesn't bother me :~)

2" Exhaust cat back 75-84 Rabbit $190

Fits 1975-1984 Rabbit, with 8V engine (cars with full size spare tire).
Aluminized steel 2" mandrel.

And parts of it _will_ certainly last longer than 3 years in many regions
of the USA. The salt belt here in Ohio eats anything other than stainless
steel exhaust systems amazingly fast, starting at the welds where the
aluminum cladding is missing. Stainless steel has done the best for me in
northern Ohio. There we are talking 2.25 inches and maybe $500... Doyt
