Just what do they "inspect" anyway? Out here (Oregon) we only have
emissions testing (and barely that for a diesel, and only if you're
registered in a metro area), they don't give a damn about anything outside
of the emissions system. Heck, they don't even care about my missing
muffler. :) Basically all they do is plug in to the computer and check for
readiness codes (post-96).
I wonder how many of the rattletrap POS cars I see on the road would be kept
off by some kind of inspection.
