It's early days yet, but note the improvement in economy of 10 to 15%.
Also note the early pre rebuild good and bad results. These were due to towing. The first two over 50 was the only time this engine had done so, and was down to steady driving at about 55ish , and towing a little trailer of 3ft by 4ft by 2ft deep, which seemed to reduce drag on my Q estate. How do I know it reduces drag? Well, in the driver area I have a boost gauge, that shewed less boost when cruising with the little trailer, than normallly without. The next result that was conversely only 35mpg, that was due to towing a 4 birth caravan, which in that case was pretty good I think.
THe final measurement that hit 59.4mpg was done over a continuous journey of 35miles, traveling mostly 55 to 60, but also several miles over 70mph, and hitting 80mph for a mile or so. It was my first journey not including 2/3 mixed town driving as well.
Now I think about it, during the first four new measurements , I was regularly pushing the engine, to bed in the rings, so now I can expect the average mpg to increase further :o)
