[Vwdiesel] Signs of PD worn cam syndrome?

I just had a thought, on this PD camshaft problem.
When I was disassembling my PD head I found that the injectors had worn deep
grooves in the aluminum head opposite the injector hold down clamp.
In the injector bore; the seal lands (metal on either side of the seal) had
come in contact with the soft aluminum head.
The ever so slight vibration of injection had worn .020-.030 deep grooves.

If the fuel had started seeping into the oil; diluting the oil ... yikes....
Diesel is a very effective solvent. Bad News would follow....
Sure some fuel would evaporate from the heat, but the cam followers are only
a inch from the injector seals.
