Thanks Brian!

I found someone selling the Vanagon flywheel on The Samba, and duh, it is the traditional clutch setup like my '78 Bus, not the inside-out arrangement on the rabbit/jetta. 

I finally found a listing for the part number of the flywheel I have, on a Dutch site.  It appears that the one I have is from a Golf II.  Anybody know if maybe the timing hole on the Golf II's transmission might be in a different place? 

Just trying to figure out why the TDC mark doesn't seem to be in the right place.
