[Vwdiesel] Am I the only one?

I've driven plenty of the newer ones, as I've worked as a mech for about 1/3
of my adult life (now 35). I'm also in the process of opening a shop,
hopefully formally opening the doors a week from Monday. I daily drive the
86 4000 Quattro and the 82 1.6 5-speed Jetta. I love the Jetta, makes the
4000 feel like a Caddilac in it's responses. But, the 4000 has working A/C
and cruise, and just eats up the miles. I drive about 15-20k a year, and
these loder ones don't seem to mind the miles (currently at 350k on the
Jetta, 230k on the 4000).
BTW, I prefer the older ones, though the newer ones have kept food on my
table ;-) Although I don't feel the need for ABS or Airbags, just a
preference though. The newer cars are definately queter than mine, though.
