[Vwdiesel] Injectors?

Sounds like $10 glow plugs, maybe a bit more at your FLAPS.

Make sure there's power to the glow plugs. If not check electrical, if
yes, pull injectors and look if the plugs are glowing when the yellow
glow light is on (light is just a timer, and doesn't actually tell you
the plugs are working, just timing how long they SHOULD glow..)

If glow plugs are shot buy 4. They're much easier to replace if you
pull the injector lines and the injectors - personally I would pay a
little more for Bosch ones.. You'll need a deep socket for the
injectors, I forget what size.. You'll need a torque wrench to put the
injectors back in.

Hopefully you can get 4 $1.50 injector heat shields for when you put the
injectors back in (they compress to seal). If not, clean the heat
shields and take a punch and a block of wood to tap the center part of
the heat shield back up so it can seal again.

Be VERY careful not to side load the injectors when you pull them, the
head is very thin and you can destroy your engine head.

Not a big job, probably and hour.

Will in Alaska.
