so second use is a lower torque...?

As the bolt enters the plastic range, only the first angled torquing
produces say 105 to 120lbft, later torquings eg after 1000km produces less,
say 95ish. I personally only angle torque from new, to approx 45 degrees.
This is because;
1) As you angle torque and reach the plastic range, the lbfts level off, so
IMO further torquing gains nothing in clamping force. I use a Snapon torque
wrench.
2) Right from the begining it is my intention to use bolts twice, so my
total of angled torquing is only half of that 'allowed' leaving the other
'half' for the next time...
It's not an exact science, and not in any book,[yet]; but I have been 100%
successful [so far].
