Good pics on facebook Dave, but can you take some more after you clean
things up?
Get the chunks off that are loose, wash the cylinder bore down, solvent or
whatever, wipe it clean, toss all the loose junk from below, clean the
journals, and repost a few pics. A bit more info is needed really before
I'd be good with a judgement call on your question.
If this were me doing it for me, I'd just clean up the new block and start
fresh, but with this one, being for sale, you want cheap, it's too covered
in oil to tell really.
Thanks

Once again, link to pics:

A couple folks think the engine could be salvaged if I knocked the chunk off
the crank and made sure no burrs hit the rod/cap and if I smoothed out the
gouges and crack in the cylinder. (Assuming those don't go higher than the
bottom edge of the oil scraper ring.)
So, I could take the unknown block and fix it up and stick it in there, or I
could take a rod, piston, etc and smooth things out and put the current one
together.
What would you do?
Anyone know how low that bottom, oil scraper goes so I can measure if it is
an option?
