[Vwdiesel] WTB: Cheap car/Project

My 1985 Jetta TD might interest Dave. He would have to dolly it from Ohio 
to Kansas, when the weather gets better.

I parked it because it started heating up after about 10-20 minutes of 
driving. (20 minutes won't get it to Kansas.) It ran good before that. 
Probably needs a new head gasket. I have owned the car since the 90's. It 
needs brakes, shocks, could use front fenders (bolt-on), a battery and 
minor interior stuff.  The A/C doesn't blow cold. Wipers require annual 
lubrication of shafts. Door handles and latches require annual removal and 
lubrication.

I haven't scrapped it it because someone might want the turbo and special 
exhaust manifold, the block with piston squirters, the oil filter assembly 
with port to the turbo, the oil pan with return port from turbo, and the 
good exhaust between the down pipe and the rear of the car. It also has a 
good 5 speed with diesel gearing. Plus.... the injectors, glow plugs, 
alternator and starter are OK and it rolls on 4 good tires and wheels. 
Glass is all OK, heater works, hoses are good, has recent radiator. Sun 
roof works and doesn't leak. Seats are Ok and are covered in premium fabric 
used on Porsche of same year. It was one sweet machine that I drove for 
over 15 years.

I'd like to see someone on the list get it, even as a parts car. I'm just 
getting too old to do all that stuff.
