[Vwdiesel] Poop!

  Driving home from the soccer game (Wenatchee Fire PASL, I get season 
tickets 
for helping with mech and maintenance issues).
  Driving up the hill out of Wenatchee, the car suddenly died, we coasted 
to the 
top, pulled over, called Dad and towed it home.  
  It cranks about 3x faster than normal and doesn't start.  Doesn't sound 
hitchy 
like a broken timing belt, dead hole etc but my guess is a broken T-belt.  
:-(
  Opinions of something more optimistic?  I'd expect bent valves and such 
but it cranks over smoothly, just way faster.
