Yes, check the voltage at the battery. Just fixed a car with a "bad" 
alternator diagnosed at another shop. Turned out to be the connection from 
the cable to the battery clamp, I believe a 10mm wrench was the size. 
Cleaned it with a wire brush, and worked like now. Before cleaning, I got 
14.5V at the cable, 12.8 at teh battery. After, 14.2 with everything turned 
on at idle.
