[Vwdiesel] Banana Rabbit--It gets worse!!

So much for just repairing the rod and oil pump. The pump was fine, what I was thinking was an oil pump bolt is a rod bolt. The bottom of the rod is resting on part of the block. The pin ripped out of the bottom of the piston, trashing that too. The piston has rotated in the bore. I can only imagine what the cylinder walls are like. I also imagine that the crankshaft bearing surface has been pretty damaged.
I posted some pics of the carnage on a public Facebook album that anyone should be able to see:

My roommate and I have thought of a couple more options for where to go from here:
*Remove the engine and transmission. Fill the engine compartment along with any gaps, rust holes etc I might find with expanding foam. Turn it into a boat and freak other boaters out.
*Fish the rod out of the engine and free up the crank. Disconnect the fuel line from the injector, and tee it into the return line. Now it is a 3-cylinder engine!
I thought the car was "Banana" yellow, but it seems to be lemon yellow...
