[Vwdiesel] [VW-TDI] noise in rear (fwd)

How about just jacking it up, and seeing how much play the wheels have.

I had a noisy rear end once, and kept wondering about it for a week or two.

The wonder converted to amazement as the car cocked, and I stopped, getting out to see the rear wheel cocked 15 degrees.

Jacking the car up, I found the drum loose. Apparently the wheel bearings pounded their way in after 180kmiles. I took off the virgin cotter pin, tightened things up, let the car down, and have been driving it since.

I wouldn't want you to have any roadside trama, or drama, as I did.
