My brothers truck was a converted gas model. Helps to have the glow plug relay system which isn't that hard. A cold start pull knob in the cab and a 12 volt wire to turn the fuel pump on and off with the key. The glow plugs could be push button in the cab if you really want basics. Most of the other things are converted over.
