[Vwdiesel] 1.6 TD prechamber talk

Yes, I think new ones are the way to go as well. I just wanted to poll the list and see if anyone has purchased them from another source at all. I will send an email to Italy this week and see where it goes from there. Is anyone else interested in getting some of these as well? It might help the cause to buy more than 4 esp. with the shipping costs... I think I may buy 8 even to keep in case I need to repair another head.
My head has never been machined, so I am hoping that the new cups just fit perfectly (gasp!) or just measure the difference and grind the new prechamber cups down with a surface grinder. I have access to machine shop toys like that through my Alma Mater.
Thanks,
Fernando

Now I am not sure if there is a difference between the 1.6L NA to TD cups.
The heads I'd have would either be 1.5 or 1.6, no turbos... Actually I do
have a dead turbo
head but it'd have 3 good ones at best. A slight oversize might be the
best way to go
but you'll have to surface the head regardless. Mine have likely been
surfaced so you'd
end up having to bring the head down to them where new ones might be
thicker and just
have to bring them down to the head.
