Some talk about purchasing a head... I have a new'ish head available. It is a 1.9 head (aaz type) but the intake ports were welded smaller for the 1.6 size. It has also been drilled and tapped for the old (1.6) style valve cover. 

Head + new bolts 10mm for $450 shipped. 

Will include new heavier aaz injectors with new heat shields and new glowplugs for $625 shipped

I ran this long enough to realize that the rings were the problem, not the head, or about 3 hrs. It was an expensive mistake. My loss, someones gain.
