  US didn't see the '84 TD and all the '82/'83 TD's were automatic AFIK.  
Yeah, 
the Quattro RPM's would be a tad high.  I wonder if the diesel automatic R&
P 
would fit in a Quattro box?  It's something like 2.08:1  I forget exactly 
but it's 
WAY higher geared than any of the gas R&P's.
  Agreed they run out of poop early.  I figure an intercooler, a little 
boost enrichment 
messing and a 3" exhaust should fix that.  One of these days I'll get to 
mine.  :-P
